Walking Together Since 2022

At New Town Toyota, community isn't just a value we talk about -- it's something we show up for, year after year. Since 2022, we've been proud to stand alongside the Harry Perkins Institute of Medical Research as a sponsor of the Walk for Women's Cancers, Perth's most beloved fundraising walk supporting world-class research into cancers that affect women.

What started as a commitment to give back has grown into one of the causes closest to our hearts. Every year, our team laces up, hits the pavement, and rallies our community to make a real difference.

    Four Years. One Shared Purpose.

Since our first walk in 2022, the New Town Toyota team has been a consistent presence at this incredible event -- not just as a sponsor, but as passionate participants fundraising alongside thousands of West Australians who have been personally touched by women's cancers.

Across four years of walking, our team has collectively raised $172,257. Contributing to an impressive amount raised for women's cancer research at the Harry Perkins Institute

Here's a look at what we've achieved together:

Why This Cause Matters to Us

Women's cancers touch families everywhere, including our own. As a dealership that has served the Perth community for decades, we understand that being a good business neighbour means more than providing great cars and service. It means investing in the health and wellbeing of the people who make this community what it is.

The Harry Perkins Institute of Medical Research is one of Australia's leading medical research organisations, and the Walk for Women's Cancers directly funds their vital work into breast, ovarian, cervical, and other cancers affecting women right here in Western Australia.

    Our Team in Action

Each year, staff from across the dealership -- from our sales and service teams to our management, clients, customers and their friends and families -- come together to walk, fundraise, and show up for something bigger than themselves. We're proud of the culture of generosity our team has built around this event, and we're grateful to every customer, friend, and supporter who has donated to our cause over the years.

The Walk for Women's Cancers is open to everyone. Whether you walk with us, donate to our team, or simply share our fundraising page with your network -- every action counts.

35 Kilometres Through the Heart of Perth

The Walk for Women's Cancers isn't just a fundraiser -- it's a journey through some of Perth's most iconic streets and suburbs, and one that stays with you long after you cross the finish line.

Starting at the University of Western Australia in Crawley, walkers make their way through to the Harry Perkins Institute of Medical Research itself -- a powerful reminder of exactly where your fundraising dollars go. From there, the route winds through Shenton Park before opening up into the breathtaking green expanse of Kings Park, with sweeping views across the city as the sun comes up over the Swan River.

From Kings Park, walkers descend into the heart of Perth CBD, passing through Elizabeth Quay and along Riverside Drive before crossing the Windan Bridge into Burswood. The route then follows the eastern bank of the Swan River, taking in views of Optus Stadium before continuing along the South Perth foreshore -- one of the most scenic stretches of the entire walk.

The final leg brings walkers back across the Narrows Bridge, along Mounts Bay Road, and home to UWA -- completing a full 35-kilometre loop that circles the Swan River and showcases the very best of Perth.

It's a big day on your feet. But with every step, you're walking for women whose lives depend on the research happening right here in Western Australia.
