Toyota HiLux is Australia's best-selling vehicle... again

And we are not surprised!

The Toyota Hilux has been designed to be easier to load and handle the hardest jobs, then be more than welcoming when it’s time to head out on the town.

And we are not suprised!

Cars guide Australia have summarised it perfectly by saying “ Growing from a small, utilitarian workhorse to a fully featured, dual-purpose vehicle, the HiLux has stuck with the same basic formula since its introduction to the Australian landscape in 1968, adding a choice of petrol and diesel engines, 4x2 and 4x4 drive types and a choice between single, extra and dual cab bodies with either a pickup tray or cab chassis. Although it faces more opposition than ever from almost every competitor, the HiLux is still a byword for reliability and utility.

The nation’s favourite WorkHorse is built to be stronger than you could ever imagine. Every HiLux begins with an uncompromisingly tough and proven DNA that’s the result of over 40 years of continuous testing and development by Toyota in the harshest Australian conditions and terrain. Each is built from the ground up, starting with an extra strong high tensile steel frame featuring hundreds of spot welds to deliver a muscled-up body with exceptional strength and torsional rigidity. Together they mean HiLux is primed to perform in the toughest real world situations.

And we are not suprised!

Within the Hilux range, motorists have plenty to choose from. Ranging from 2WD to 4WD, if you’re looking for a workhorse we have the single-cab WorkMate, the four-door SR as well as the off-road capable Rugged, Rugged X and Rogue with petrol and diesel varieties available.

The top of the range is the Hilux Rugged X and Rogue, where you can relax in a premium black leather accented interior, with heated front seats for chilly days and an 8-way electrically adjustable driver’s seat for your comfort.  If you want some more details on this range we have a full review here on the new Hilux range.

If you’re looking to customise your new car, you won’t be disappointed with the Hilux, with plenty of extras available to suit the drive to work or your next weekend adventure, with trays, canopies, bull bars and comfortable seating all available for purchase.

Standing bold and powerful on the road.

HiLux matches an uncompromisingly strong exterior with unrivalled levels of interior styleJump behind the wheel and you’ll discover that behind the tough exterior lies a stylish, well-appointed interior that’s more SUV than workhorse, and quieter than ever before.

Performance - Strong in action

Carry everything you need for the job, with an impressive braked towing capacity of up to 3.5 tonnes[J8] even when you’re off-road (applies to SR & SR5 4x4 Double-Cab, Rugged and Rugged X turbo diesel Manual variants).

Intelligent Technology

In tough situations, just hit the button to engage intelligent manual transmission (i-MT). It then maintains optimal revs to help you change gears smoothly and help avoid stalling. (Standard on SR5 and Rugged X turbo diesel manual models).

Safety - Drive with confidence

To help you tow with confidence, every HiLux has Trailer Sway Control to help limit the movement of your trailer if it begins to sway in adverse conditions. Every HiLux has Hill-start Assist Control[B4] to help you avoid rollback on steep inclines. Selected models also have Downhill Assist Control[B4] for low speed control when descending slopes.

[J8] Towing capacity is subject to regulatory requirements, towbar and vehicle design and towing equipment limitations. Ask your Dealer for Toyota Genuine Towbar capacity and availability details.
