Let’s hit the road WA

Get some road trip inspiration from our staff at New Town Toyota and their favourite destinations within WA.

Most of you have already been on or at least started planning a road trip somewhere in WA over the last 12 months seeming we have all been.….well stuck here. But we’re not complaining! There is so much to see in our beautiful state it’s impossible to feel “stuck”.

WA is the second largest state in the world so we promise there is plenty to see!

Starting from Perth, the decision is do you want to head North or South? Pending on the time of the year you’ll be chasing the heat, the beaches, the fishing and the off-roading or head to the wine region down south and dine at some of the best restaurants our state has to offer.

The choices are endless! So to help you decide, our staff have provided a list of their favourite holiday destinations within Western Australia:

Esperance

The water is crystal clear at every single beach in Esperance. You can drive along the water’s edge from Cape Le Grand beach - 22km all the way into town! Plus of course seeing the kangaroos at Lucky Bay is pretty special.

Margaret River

Cullen Wines Margaret River. Best Rose’ you will ever taste called “Dancing in the moonlight” . Also the Degustation menu in the restaurant is delicious and is worth the road trip down!

John Forest National Park

My favourite place at the moment if very close by. John Forrest National Park only 30 minutes from the city, I go there every few weekends to unwind, get back to nature and sometimes go for a run. So beautiful up there and what’s best is you can go to the local tavern and be amongst the Kangaroos and wildlife while you have lunch.

Osprey bay – Exmouth

Camping right on the beach, whale watching from the beach and turtles swimming right in front of you. Some of the most amazing stars at night. Definitely my favourite spot!

Broome

You can sit back and relax when you are on Broome time!

Denham

The road trip up to Denham Shark Bay was great, Its such a small country town on the coast. I’m from NSW originally and it’s the first time I have seen the north of WA. I had one of the best meals ever at a little restaurant called “The Old Pearler”. It’s not much but I would do it again!

Eagle Bay

The best beach in the world (in my opinion). The pristine waters of Eagle Bay are so inviting on a hot summers day in the South West. Also being so close to incredible wineries, and fresh, local produce makes for a relaxing and indulgent getaway.

Remote WA

Kelly and I enjoy prospecting in the remote bushland of WA. Naturally, we’ve driven a Toyota to get there and home again safely. The last trip we did was in one of the first Prado’s ever produced, a KJZ95.

Little Boat Harbour at Bremer Bay

Great small beach to take the family to if you own a 4x4. Quite secluded, and a very relaxed beach, with plenty of space for the kids to enjoy a swim or adventure, with nice clean sand of the South West to park on and relax under an umbrella. Many fond memories swimming, snorkelling, and looking through the rockpools in the surrounding areas as a child. Perfect place for a game of beach cricket also. Highly recommend this amazing beach if you find yourself adventuring through our South West of Western Australia. Be sure to stop in at the Bremer Bay Bakery as well, as their Pies are amazing!
