Tim Kelly's Easter long weekend ideas
Easter long weekend is the start of the school holidays, and if you have kids, we know that normally leaves you racking your brain trying to think of activities to keep them entertained. We are here to help! We have teamed up with Tim Kelly from the West Coast Eagles and he has given us his top spots to check out this Easter long weekend.
Q: Where is your favourite quick getaway from Perth that you think people must check out?
A: My favourite quick getaway with the family is the family Shack in the Cervantes, it’s situated right on the beach and great for Camping, Fishing and just relaxing. Plus it's just over 2 hours away from Perth which means it's an easy (ish) road trip if you have kids.
Q: Are there any must do activities in Perth you think everyone should do at least once?
A: Must do activity in Perth (especially if your kids love nature) is the Lesmurdie Falls Walk. My kids love it there! Plenty of water holes to throw rocks in and the fresh air / peace and quiet is probably the best thing about it. Plus some great views overlooking the National Park and the City.
Q: When you have time off during the season what is your favourite kind of holiday with the family?
A: My kids love the water, so whenever I’ve got time off during the AFL season I always try to get them down to the beach as much as possible, Rockingham Beach is a great spot. The kids love when we take the JetSki out and it’s often a challenge to get them off to come home but it makes for a fun day.
Q: What will you be doing this Easter?
A: We celebrate Easter by having a big breakfast with other family members, followed by an Easter egg hunt for all the kids. The kids love it. This Easter will be exactly the same, probably a little sore from the game the night before though.
